Peugeot 307 alternator issue
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Peugeot 307 diesel is experiencing reduced engine power, a battery warning light, poor starts, flickering lights, and a full error memory, suggesting a potential alternator issue. The error memory scan indicates a defective generator, aligning with similar experiences where the alternator was the culprit. Replacing the alternator is recommended to resolve these issues and prevent further damage.

Yes, scanned it and it says generator defective. Just wondering if anyone else ran into this before I spend a lot. How similar were your symptoms, and what was the actual issue?

If the error memory points to the generator, the alternator is likely defective. My 307 behaved as you described. I had the alternator replaced at a workshop. Consider professional help to prevent more damage.

Looks like I'm heading to the shop then. Got a quote for around 960€ for the alternator replacement. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

I had similar symptoms on my 307. Weak lights and engine issues suggest a faulty alternator, but check the starter motor and charging system too. Did you scan the error memory for codes?
