Fluid level's good, and it doesn't smell burnt, though it probably needs changing. No other warning lights besides the gearbox fault indicator. What did it end up being for you? Was it really the control unit? How did you fix it?

Yeah, for me, it was the control unit. Best bet is to get it properly diagnosed. A decent garage should be able to confirm it. It's not a cheap fix, I'm afraid, but better to be sure than throw parts at it.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – the control unit is fried. Quoted me 1000€ for a replacement and programming. Ouch. At least I know what's wrong now. Cheers!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my 307, though the paddle shifters weren't the first thing to go. Slipping and emergency mode, though, yep. Have you checked the basics, like fluid level and condition? Any other warning lights on?
