Peugeot 307 automatic transmission shifting issue

I have a 2008 Peugeot 307 with a gasoline engine and 94851 km mileage. I'm experiencing implausible shifting behavior of the automatic transmission. The transmission indicator light comes on, and the automatic transmission does not shift as usual. Sometimes it goes into emergency mode. Could worn-out transmission oil be the culprit?

I had similar issues with my 307's automatic gearbox. It's like the car suddenly forgets how to shift properly. Has the car been struggling in other areas, like the battery? I've read reports of undervoltage causing weird transmission issues.

Undervoltage in the vehicle, you say? I had not considered that as a possibility. How did you come to that conclusion?

Well, my battery was on its last legs. I've heard the 307's electrics can be sensitive. When the voltage drops, the transmission control unit can act up. It's like a computer trying to run on low power; things get glitchy. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop. They'll be able to confirm if it's related to undervoltage, or if it's something else entirely.

Thank you for the suggestion. I had the car diagnosed. Turns out it was indeed related to undervoltage causing the automatic transmission to misbehave due to worn out transmission oil. Repair cost 240€
