Peugeot 307 bumper antenna error

I'm having a weird issue with my 2003 Peugeot 307 (gasoline engine) with about 11k on the clock. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory related to the bumper antenna. Now the key fob won't unlock or lock the car properly, and it's even preventing me from starting the engine unless the key is physically in the ignition. I suspect it is a cable or plug connection problem, anyone seen anything like this before?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had similar gremlins in my 307. Have you checked the car radio? My mechanic was muttering about the antenna amplifier being somehow linked to the central locking system. Could be a broken wire or a dodgy connector somewhere in the car radio loom. Did you replace the car radio?

Thanks, I will check. I didn't replace the car radio, but I guess the previous owner could have. Where exactly should I be looking for this antenna amplifier and any potential cable issues? Is it easy to spot?

Honestly, finding it was a pain. It's buried somewhere near the radio unit, but hard to reach. My dude traced it back to the base of the bumper antenna, diagnosed the bad connection, and told me that a complete replacement isn't worth it. He suggested going to a trusted workshop to have a professional look at it. Trust me, I would not try messing with it myself.

Thanks a lot! I'll take it to the shop next week. Your advice was spot on! They've confirmed that a cable was defective and they want 95€ for the repair. So thanks again!
