Thanks for the quick reply. Can you tell me exactly where the wiring harness and plug connections are, and how to check them without causing more damage?

On my Volvo, the problem was in the rubber boot that protects the wires going from the door frame into the door. The wires can crack inside the boot. Carefully peel back the boot and check for breaks or frayed insulation. But a workshop might be best to diagnose it properly. Saved me a lot of trouble!

Thanks for the explanation and advice. I consulted a technician to check the door contact signal and wiring harness. The cable and plug connection were defective. The repair cost 95€.

That sounds frustrating! My old Volvo V70 had a similar issue. The central locking went haywire, and it was a dodgy wiring harness where it passed from the car body into the door. Have you checked the wiring and plug connections around the door latch? Look for damage or corrosion.
