Peugeot 307 Defrost Air Distribution Flap Fault

I'm having an issue with my 2001 Peugeot 307 diesel. The defrost air distribution flap seems to be faulty. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and the heating output is too low. I suspect it might be a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Sounds familiar. Had similar issues with a 2008 Volvo V70. Check the connection to the flap motor itself. It could be corroded or loose. Has the blower motor been making any unusual noises?

Thanks for the tip. No strange noises from the blower motor, just the weak heating. Where exactly was the connection located on your Volvo? Perhaps the Peugeot is similar.

On the Volvo, it was tucked up behind the dash, near the HVAC unit. Access was a pain. Given your symptoms, it is very likely that a visit to a workshop will be neccessary.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. After diagnostics at the workshop, it turned out to be as suspected, a faulty cable connection to the air distribution flap actuator. Cost 95€ to get it sorted.
