Thank you for your response. You mentioned the high-pressure fuel pump. Is there a way to confirm if that is indeed the problem before replacing it?

Unfortunately, without specialized diagnostic equipment, it's difficult to pinpoint the high-pressure pump as the sole culprit. Considering the symptoms and mileage, a defective fuel volume regulator, often linked to the high-pressure pump, is a likely cause. Given the complexity of the fuel injection system, I'd recommend a workshop diagnosis.

Thank you for the advice. I took the car to a workshop, and they confirmed the high-pressure pump was defective, leading to a fuel volume regulator issue. The repair cost was 1510€. The car runs smoothly now.

I had a similar issue with my Peugeot 307. The symptoms you describe sound awfully familiar. Has your fuel efficiency also taken a hit? It could very well be related to the fuel volume regulator. It's worth investigating the high-pressure fuel pump, as a defect there can manifest in those ways.
