Peugeot 307 electronic parking brake failure

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2005 Peugeot 307 diesel. The electronic parking brake seems to have failed. The handbrake isn't working, and I've got an error message and a warning light. Any ideas?

Hey, I had something similar with my 307. Did the diagnostics point to the brake calliper? For me, it was a dodgy electric motor in the calliper. Was it gradual, or did it just happen suddenly?

Thanks. That sounds like what I'm seeing. I haven't dug deep into the diagnostics, but a quick scan mentioned something about the brake calliper. Was it costly?

Yeah, it was the electric motor in the brake calliper then. I took it to a garage to get it sorted. The garage quoted me around 500€, new motor, labour, the whole thing. It was a bit steep, but at least it's working fine now. Worth getting it properly looked at, as brake failure is not something to play with.

Thanks for confirming. I appreciate the advice. I'll book it in with a local garage to get it sorted. It looks like it will be a costly repair but at least I know what to expect, and I don't want to mess about with the brakes. Cheers!
