Thanks for your reply! I didn't check the codes myself, to be honest. Where exactly should I look for the purge valve, and are there any signs of clogging I could easily spot?

I wouldn't poke around too much without knowing the specific fault code. When mine did that, I brought it to a workshop; they sorted it out quickly. It could be a faulty valve or just a clogged hose. Best to get it diagnosed properly to avoid messing with the emission system.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were right. It was the tank ventilation valve. They replaced it and cleaned the hoses. Cost me 175€, but the engine light is gone, and it idles smoothly now.
