Peugeot 307 Fuel Filter Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Peugeot 307 owner experienced a check engine light, stalling at idle, and reduced power after replacing the fuel filter. The issue was suspected to be related to the fuel pressure regulator, possibly damaged during the replacement process. Another individual shared a similar experience, suggesting checking the pressure sensor and fuel pump relay. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be the fuel pressure regulator, which was likely affected during the filter change.

Can you elaborate on the pressure sensor issue? Was it visibly damaged, or just a loose connection? I handled it during the fuel filter replacement, but I wasn't sure if I damaged it. I'll check the fuel pump relay, but any insights on the sensor would be great.

In my case, it was a combination of factors. The connector was corroded, and a wire was close to breaking. It seemed secure, but a closer look revealed the fragile connection. Given our similar symptoms and the timing with your filter replacement, I suspect a similar issue. A trusted workshop might be best. These systems are sensitive, and further attempts may worsen it.

You were right. The mechanics confirmed it was the fuel pressure regulator, likely damaged during my filter replacement. The total cost was 45€.

Your description sounds like my experiences with my 307. I had intermittent engine misfires, reduced fuel efficiency, and stalling. Did you disturb the pressure sensor during the filter replacement? In my case, it was a faulty connection. Have you checked the fuel pump relay?
