Peugeot 307 fuel pressure issue
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Peugeot 307 was experiencing issues such as a persistent check engine light, rough idling, stalling, and jerking during acceleration. The suspected cause was a defective fuel pressure sensor or a loose connection. After running a diagnostic scan with an OBD2 scanner, a fault code confirmed the fuel pressure sensor issue. The problem was resolved by fixing a bad cable and plug connection, restoring the car's performance.

Thanks for the reply! You mentioned cleaning the sensor connector on your Astra. Did you use any specific kind of cleaner? Also, how did you pinpoint the fuel pressure sensor as the culprit? Did you use an OBD2 scanner or something?

I used electrical contact cleaner, just a standard can from the auto parts store. As for pinpointing the sensor, yeah, I used an OBD2 scanner. It threw a code related to fuel pressure. Given your symptoms, it's worth getting a scan to confirm. But honestly, even if it is just a loose connection like you suspect, with those symptoms, it might be best to get it checked by someone who knows these Peugeots. Could save you a bigger headache down the line.

Right, I took your advice and ran a diagnostic scan, and sure enough, fuel pressure sensor was the culprit as the OBD2 scanner showed a fault code regarding fuel pressure. Turns out it was indeed a bad connection! My local garage charged me 95€ to fix the cable and plug connection of the sensor. Runs like a charm again! Thanks for your help!

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms in my old Opel Astra - check engine light, rough idling. In my case, it was also related to fuel delivery. The fuel pressure sensor was sending incorrect readings, causing the engine to misbehave. Have you checked the sensor's wiring for any obvious damage or corrosion? Also, have you tried cleaning the sensor connector? Sometimes, dirt or grime can interfere with the signal.
