Summary of the thread
A 2009 Peugeot 307 diesel faced an issue where the engine wouldn't start, with error codes indicating an immobilizer problem. The problem was suspected to be related to key programming. A similar experience was shared, suggesting that the immobilizer was likely the cause. The recommended solution was to have the key reprogrammed at a workshop, which resolved the issue.

Yeah, the error codes definitely pointed to the immobilizer. I've tried both keys and still nothing. When you say 'exact same symptoms', are you talking about the same immobilizer issue? What did you end up doing to fix it?

Yep, immobilizer was the culprit. Trust me, I ripped my hair out trying to figure it out. Honestly, I'd suggest biting the bullet and getting it checked at a workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose it and reprogram the key if needed. It might be a simple fix, but messing with car electronics can be a real headache.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out the key needed to be reprogrammed. Cost me 45€, and now it's running like a charm again. Appreciate the help!

Sounds painfully familiar! I had almost the exact same symptoms on my 307. Engine would fire up for a split second, then just give up. Properly frustrating! Was yours also flagging up an immobilizer fault? Just out of curiosity, have you tried your spare key?
