Peugeot 307 Injection Problem

My 2009 Peugeot 307 with a gasoline engine has 213451 km on it, and the injection system seems to be failing. Fuel consumption is higher, engine power is reduced, it sometimes stalls at idle, and there's a puff of smoke when accelerating. Could this be a defective cable or plug connection? What could be causing these performance issues?

I had something similar with my 307. Sounds like it could be air or fuel related. Have you checked the simple things first, like the air filter or any obvious leaks? What about the fuel pump relay? I'm not an expert but it might be worth a look before diving into anything too complicated or expensive. What do you think?

I've checked the air filter and fuel pump relay, and they seem okay. You mentioned a potential fuel leak. Where specifically should I be looking for a leak? Is there a particular area of the engine or fuel lines that's more prone to issues?

I'm no mechanic, but when mine acted up, it was a bad connection near the injectors. I couldn't pinpoint it and took it to a workshop. They sorted it quickly. Maybe it's time to let the pros take a look?

I consulted a professional, and it was a defective cable/plug connection, as suspected. Repair costs were 95€. Thanks for your help!
