Peugeot 307 Misfires

That sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my old Opel Astra, although it was a diesel. Cylinder misfires can be a pain. Have you tried checking the spark plugs or coil packs?

Yes, the Astra's throttle response was terrible, and the engine misfired constantly. Eventually, it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector. I'd suggest getting yours properly diagnosed at a workshop.
