Peugeot 307 power loss and fuel consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Peugeot 307 is experiencing power loss, poor acceleration, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. A potential cause could be a vacuum leak, but a similar case was resolved by replacing a faulty boost pressure control valve, also known as a vacuum switching valve. It is recommended to have a professional workshop diagnose and confirm the issue, as it may require specialized tools and expertise.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is that valve located, and is it something I could potentially check myself, or is it too complicated?

It's usually near the turbo, but honestly, without the right tools and knowledge, it's tricky to diagnose for sure. Given the symptoms and mileage, a defective vacuum switching valve is very likely. I ended up taking mine to a workshop; they confirmed it quickly. Cost me about 140€ including parts and labor.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I'll take it to a workshop and mention the boost pressure control valve. Hopefully, that's the issue. I really appreciate the help!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Peugeot 307, though it was a few years older. Same symptoms: check engine light, sluggish performance, and terrible fuel economy. It turned out to be a faulty boost pressure control valve, or vacuum switching valve. Have you checked that?
