Summary of the thread
A 2007 Peugeot 307 owner reported a radar sensor fault, causing error messages and affecting systems like cruise control. The issue was suspected to be due to a dirty or misaligned sensor. It was suggested to clean and recalibrate the sensor, typically located behind the front bumper or near the rearview mirror. After taking the car to a workshop for cleaning and recalibration, the problem was resolved.

Thanks for the quick response! It is impacting the cruise control and other driving assistance systems, yes. You mention a dirty sensor... Where exactly is it located, and is it easy to access for cleaning? What kind of cleaning would you recommend?

Okay, if it's impacting those systems, it's definitely worth investigating further. The radar sensor's placement can vary slightly, but typically it's behind the front bumper, often near the lower grille area, or integrated within the rearview mirror assembly. Access depends on your bumper design; you might need to remove a panel or two. I strongly suggest, however, that you get the car to a workshop. Incorrect handling can break it.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I took it to the shop; they cleaned and recalibrated the radar sensor, as you suggested. Seems like it was just dirty after all. Cost me 45€ and everything is working fine now!

I had a similar issue on my 307. Is it impacting your braking or cruise control? The radar sensor, like any sophisticated piece of tech, can be finicky. Before tearing anything apart, have you considered that it could be a simple case of misalignment or a dirty sensor? Imagine a camera lens covered in grime – the image would be distorted. The radar sensor is similar, even a thin layer of road grime can throw it off.
