Peugeot 307 reduced engine power hissing sound

My 2007 Peugeot 307 (gasoline engine) is acting up. The check engine light is on, and I've got seriously reduced engine power, plus a whistling, almost hissing sound when I accelerate. I checked the error memory, and it says something about the charge air temperature sensor. Mileage is only 36681 km. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my 307: reduced power and a weird noise under acceleration. Has your temperature gauge been acting strangely at all? I had the exact same error code related to the temperature sensor. Is it constant, or intermittent?

The temperature gauge seems normal, nothing out of the ordinary. And yeah, the error and the symptoms are pretty constant now. Where exactly was the issue on yours? What did you have to do?

Mine turned out to be a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor. I'd recommend checking those connections first, but honestly, it's fiddly work. I ended up taking it to a workshop and saved myself a lot of frustration. They sorted it pretty quickly.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I suspected it might be something like that. I'll take a look at the connections, but probably just get it to the workshop. They quoted me 95€ to fix it, so not too bad. Appreciate the help!
