Peugeot 307 Seat Heating Defective

I own a Peugeot 307, built in 2001, with a gasoline engine. The seat heating is defective; it doesn't get warm, and there's an error stored. I suspect a defective heating mat. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Oh, I get your frustration! I have a Peugeot 307 too, and I had the exact same problem last winter. Did you check the thermal sensor? I haven't, but a friend told me to look into it. Maybe it's the cause, not the mat. I finally had to give in though, what a pain!

Thank you. No, I haven't checked the thermal sensor yet. Where is it located, and how can I test it? Is it possible to check it without disassembling the seat?

Honestly, I have no idea where it is exactly, or how to test it properly. A friend mentioned it, but I ended up just taking it to a workshop because I didn't want to make things worse. It's probably best to have a professional look at it to avoid further damage.

I appreciate your insight. I will take your advice and consult a workshop. The error memory also pointed to the heating mat, and they quoted me 390€ including installation. Thank you!
