Yes, exactly! The engine shuts off, but it does not start again automatically! I then have to turn the key again. Could it really be the same problem as with your Opel?

It sounds very similar to what I experienced. In my case, the workshop determined that the battery was heavily discharged and defective because the start-stop system places quite high demands on the battery. If the battery is weak, the system will be deactivated. I would recommend that you have it checked at a workshop. They will probably find the cause quickly.

Many thanks for the tip! Then I will visit a workshop as soon as possible and have the battery checked. I also suspect the starter motor, but I hope it's 'just' the battery. The repair including the new battery ultimately cost me 290€. Best regards!

I had a similar problem with my Opel Astra, although it's a completely different car. The start-stop malfunctioned there too. Does the engine cut out at traffic lights or in similar situations and then refuse to restart automatically? Or does it not switch off at all?
