Peugeot 307 steering vibration
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Peugeot 307 experienced steering wheel vibration, spongy handling, and increased effort required to turn the wheel, suggesting a potential power steering failure. Despite the hydraulic fluid being adequate, the issue was traced to a faulty connection in the power steering pump. The solution involved checking and repairing the cable and plug connections, which resolved the problem after a mechanic's intervention.

Cable and plug connections? Where exactly are those located? And what was it doing specifically? Loose? Corroded?

Yes, the cable and plug that connect to the power steering pump. In my case, it was a bad connection causing intermittent power loss. I'd advise having it checked at a workshop. Seems like a common issue on these models. Could save you a lot of headaches.

Thanks for the tip! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to a local mechanic, and it was indeed a faulty connection on the power steering pump. New plug and some contact cleaner later, and it's working perfectly again. Cost me 95€. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my 307. The symptoms sound familiar. Did you check the cable and plug connections to the power steering component? That was the culprit in my case.
