Peugeot 307 Transmission Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Peugeot 307 with a diesel engine experienced transmission issues, including an engine warning light, limp mode, shifting slips, and grinding noises. The problem was linked to a transmission oil pressure sensor fault, potentially caused by low gearbox oil levels. The solution involved checking and topping up the gearbox oil and replacing the faulty sensor, which resolved the issues and restored smooth operation.

Easy check, you say? Did you have the same oil pressure sensor fault code? And did topping up the oil actually fix it for you?

Yeah, the same fault code. Topping up didn't solve it permanently, just masked it for a while. Turned out the sensor itself was faulty, but low oil definitely contributed. Get it checked out properly.

Cheers. I bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. You were spot on – oil was low and the sensor was goosed. New sensor and gearbox oil change later, and she's running smooth. Cost me 365€, but worth it for the peace of mind!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms in my 307. Worth checking the oil level first, it's an easy check.
