Peugeot 308 blower not working

Evening. I'm having an issue with my 2009 Peugeot 308 (gasoline engine). The fresh air blower has completely stopped working. It's done 171195 km. The fan doesn't work at any speed setting. I also plugged it into a diagnostic tool and there's an error stored related to the blower. I'm guessing it's the blower motor itself, but any thoughts before I start ripping things apart?

Hey, I had something similar with my 308. Check the fan speed controller – it regulates the voltage to the blower motor. If that fails, the blower gets no power. Also, have you checked the electrical wiring going to the blower motor? A loose or corroded connection can cause the same symptoms. It's a simple fix if you can reach it.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is the fan speed controller located? Is it easy to get to? And when you say check the wiring, do you mean visually inspect it for damage, or is there a way to test it properly with a multimeter or something?

Yeah, I meant a visual inspection, looking for frayed wires or corrosion. But testing with a multimeter is the 'proper' way. Honestly, in my case, it was all a bit beyond me. I took it to a workshop. Turned out to be the blower motor itself. They replaced it and that fixed the issue.

Thanks. I appreciate the info. I think I'll take it to my local mechanic, seems a bit more involved than I initially thought. Just got a quote for 365€ which is a bit steep but hopefully sorts it out. Thanks for your help!
