Peugeot 308 check engine light and overheating

Experiencing an intermittent check engine light and occasional engine overheating on my 2009 Peugeot 308 diesel. A diagnostic scan revealed an active air flap fault. Suspect a defective electromechanism. Anyone encountered a similar issue?

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had a comparable problem with my old Renault Megane. Check engine light and all. Did the fault code point specifically to the flap motor?

The fault code does indicate a malfunction within the flap motor circuit. Did you experience a similar overheating issue alongside the check engine light?

Yep, overheating was definitely part of the fun. Eventually, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. Turned out the motor was kaput. Best of luck!

Thank you for confirming my suspicions and sharing your experience. It seems a workshop visit is inevitable. I received a quote for 590€ for the repair. I appreciate your help!
