Good shout! Where exactly on the wiring harness should I be looking on my 308? Is there a common spot where the wires tend to fray or break, or the plug connection gets corroded?

On the Astra, it was right in the rubber boot where the wires go from the car body into the door. Constant opening and closing probably flexed the wires too much. Honestly, though, tracing electrical gremlins can be a pain. Might be worth getting a workshop to take a look if you're not confident.

Cheers! I appreciate the advice. Ended up taking it to a local shop. Turns out it was exactly what we suspected – a broken wire in the door harness. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds familiar. Had a similar thing happen on my old Vauxhall Astra, though it was the passenger door sensor acting up. Did you check the wiring harness where it goes into the door? That's where my issue was.
