Peugeot 308 engine jerking
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Peugeot 308 with a gasoline engine was experiencing uneven running, a check engine light, and jerking during acceleration. The initial concern was whether a bad fuel pump or rough idle might be the cause, with considerations of engine misfires and crankshaft sensors. However, a suggestion to check the exhaust system led to the discovery of a small leak, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Exhaust leak, huh? I hadn't thought of that. Where exactly on the exhaust system should I be looking? Is it something I can easily spot myself?

Honestly, on my Corsa, it was hard to see without getting under the car. I could hear a faint hissing sound though. Best bet is probably a workshop to check it properly and safely. Could be a small crack or something.

Thanks for the tip! Took it to the workshop, and you were right, a small leak in the exhaust system. Repair cost me 265€. Runs smooth now!

Hey, sounds frustrating! I had similar jerking issues with my old Opel Corsa. Turned out to be something with the exhaust system. Any chance you've checked for leaks there?
