Peugeot 308 engine jerking

Hi, I've got a 2007 Peugeot 308, gasoline engine, with about 240k km on it. Recently, the engine's been running unevenly. The check engine light is on and the error memory has a stored error. When accelerating, the car jerks a bit. Could a bad fuel pump cause this? Or maybe rough idle points to something else? I've been reading about engine misfires and crankshaft sensors too.

Hey, sounds frustrating! I had similar jerking issues with my old Opel Corsa. Turned out to be something with the exhaust system. Any chance you've checked for leaks there?

Exhaust leak, huh? I hadn't thought of that. Where exactly on the exhaust system should I be looking? Is it something I can easily spot myself?

Honestly, on my Corsa, it was hard to see without getting under the car. I could hear a faint hissing sound though. Best bet is probably a workshop to check it properly and safely. Could be a small crack or something.

Thanks for the tip! Took it to the workshop, and you were right, a small leak in the exhaust system. Repair cost me 265€. Runs smooth now!
