Peugeot 308 Engine Mount Defect

Experiencing an issue with my 2022 Peugeot 308 Hybrid. It has 86336 km, a stored error message, and the engine is idling unevenly. Diagnostics point towards a defective engine mount, potentially a faulty cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Wondering if it's something I can resolve myself, or if a workshop visit is unavoidable.

Hey! I have a Peugeot 308 too, though not the hybrid version. Uneven idling and error codes can be tricky. A failed mount could cause vibrations similar to a washing machine on spin cycle when it's not balanced. Have you checked the engine mount itself for any visible wear or damage to the rubber? Sometimes it's obvious if it's cracked or torn.

Thanks for the quick response! That's a helpful analogy. I did a visual inspection, but honestly, I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for. Where exactly should I be looking for the wear or damage you mentioned? Could you perhaps describe what a defective cable or plug connection might look like as well?

Well, a cracked rubber mount would be easy to spot, but if you're not confident, I understand. As for the cable, check if it's loose or corroded. Honestly, I'd say your symptoms and the error code are a red flag, pointing towards a proper inspection. I think it's better to be safe than sorry and get it checked at a workshop. Mine was a similar case and they were able to identify that the mount was indeed broken.

I appreciate the advice! It seems best to have a professional look at it. The workshop confirmed the engine mount was defective, just as suspected. It turns out, it was a simple fix, replacing the mount and the cable. The total cost was 95€ Thanks again for your assistance!
