Peugeot 308 Fuel Injection Nightmare
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Peugeot 308 with nearly 200,000 km is experiencing significant performance issues, including difficulty starting, high fuel consumption, and rough idling. These symptoms suggest potential problems with the fuel injection system, possibly due to clogged injection nozzles. The recommended solution is to have the injection system professionally checked and cleaned or replaced, which ultimately resolved the issues and restored the vehicle's performance.

Emissions, you say? Now that you mention it, it does smell a bit stronger than usual. Rich, yeah, that's a good way to describe it. Is that a sure sign of injector trouble then? How did you sort yours out?

Okay, the smell points even more to the injection. I tried some fuel injector cleaner at first, but honestly, it was a waste of time and money. My advice? Get it to a garage and have them properly checked and cleaned, or replaced if necessary. Could save you a lot of headache in the long run.

Cheers for the advice! I bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. Turns out you were spot on – defective injection nozzle, they said it was all clogged up. Cost me 515€ to get it sorted, but she's running like a dream now. Thanks again!

Sounds familiar! I've got a 308 too, and those symptoms scream fuel injection issues. High fuel consumption, rough idling, stalling... yep, been there. Have you noticed any difference in emissions? Does it smell rich?
