Peugeot 308 Fuel Injection Nightmare

Alright, petrolheads! I'm having a nightmare with my 2011 Peugeot 308, gasoline engine, almost 200k km on the clock. It's started running like a bag of spanners! Struggles to start, drinks fuel like it's going out of fashion, and the power... well, let's just say overtaking is now a distant memory. Idling is rough as anything – sometimes it even conks out at traffic lights. Could it be dirty injection nozzles? Anyone else had similar gremlins?

Sounds familiar! I've got a 308 too, and those symptoms scream fuel injection issues. High fuel consumption, rough idling, stalling... yep, been there. Have you noticed any difference in emissions? Does it smell rich?

Emissions, you say? Now that you mention it, it does smell a bit stronger than usual. Rich, yeah, that's a good way to describe it. Is that a sure sign of injector trouble then? How did you sort yours out?

Okay, the smell points even more to the injection. I tried some fuel injector cleaner at first, but honestly, it was a waste of time and money. My advice? Get it to a garage and have them properly checked and cleaned, or replaced if necessary. Could save you a lot of headache in the long run.

Cheers for the advice! I bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. Turns out you were spot on – defective injection nozzle, they said it was all clogged up. Cost me 515€ to get it sorted, but she's running like a dream now. Thanks again!
