Peugeot 308 hybrid generator issue

Hey, my 2022 Peugeot 308 hybrid is giving me some grief. Mileage is at 146907 km. Getting reduced engine power and a warning light. Starts are rough, lights are flickering, and the error memory isn't happy. Suspect the generator's gone bad. Anyone seen this before?

Faulty generators can produce a constellation of issues. Have you checked the voltage across the battery terminals while the engine is running? A significant voltage drop could indicate a failing charging system, potentially linked to the generator. Also, inspect the serpentine belt for wear or slippage, as it drives the generator.

Good shout. Where exactly should I be measuring the voltage, and what reading am I looking for as a healthy range?

Measure directly at the battery terminals with the engine idling. A healthy charging system should maintain a voltage between 13.5 and 14.5 volts. Anything significantly below this range while the engine is running suggests the generator isn't charging effectively and could be defective. Given the symptoms, a visit to a qualified workshop is advisable for a definitive diagnosis.

Thanks. Appreciate the advice. Turns out it was indeed the generator. Cost me 960€ to replace it. All good now.
