Peugeot 308 hybrid throttle valve issue

Yes, my fuel efficiency has decreased noticeably, and now that you mention it, the engine idle does sound a bit rougher than usual. I'm not very familiar with the technical aspects of the throttle valve. Could a faulty throttle sensor also be the culprit? What's the typical replacement cost for something like this?

A decrease in fuel efficiency and rough idling definitely points towards the throttle valve. A faulty sensor could be the issue, but with your mileage and symptoms, it's more likely the entire unit is starting to fail. I would strongly recommend taking it to a workshop to get a proper diagnosis, but in my experience you are looking at replacing the throttle valve. The replacement cost for a throttle valve on your 308 is probably around 265€.

I took it to the workshop, and you were right; it was the throttle valve. The final bill came out to 265€, just as you predicted. I appreciate you confirming my suspicion and providing a realistic cost estimate! I'm back on the road now!

Reduced power and a check engine light? Sounds like a pain. Throttle valve issues can definitely cause those symptoms, especially with modern hybrids that rely so heavily on precise air intake control for fuel efficiency. Has your fuel efficiency also taken a hit? And did you notice any changes in the way the engine sounds at idle?
