Peugeot 308 Limp Mode
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Peugeot 308 hybrid with 72,496 km is experiencing limp mode, characterized by gearbox slipping and unclean shifts. The issue may be linked to sensor faults affecting the gear selector, possibly related to the ABS system, although no ABS warning light is present. Diagnostic trouble codes indicate generic transmission errors. The recommended solution is professional diagnosis, which led to a sensor-related issue being resolved under warranty with a system reset.

No ABS light actually. The codes point to some generic transmission errors, but nothing specific. A faulty sensor messing with the gear selector... that's an interesting thought. Is there a way to check that myself, or is it workshop territory?

If you're seeing generic transmission errors and there's no ABS light, it's difficult to pinpoint. While a sensor issue is possible, the limp mode suggests a more serious problem. Given it's a hybrid, I'd advise having it professionally diagnosed to prevent further damage.

I took it to a shop as you suggested, and they had to reset everything to clear the limp mode. It was, as you said, something with the sensors. All covered under warranty, repair cost was 0€.

Limp mode on a 2023 308 hybrid sounds rough. Has the ABS warning light come on at all? Could be a faulty sensor messing with the gear selector. Might even be torque converter related. Worth checking diagnostic trouble codes too.
