Peugeot 308 Preheating Lamp Issue

I'm at my wit's end with my 2008 Peugeot 308 diesel. The preheating lamp NEVER switches off, and the computer keeps throwing an error. I'm pretty sure it's a glow plug issue, as my fuel efficiency has tanked, and I even had a scary engine misfire the other day! Anyone else experienced this? I'm dreading a massive repair bill.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar thing happen on my 308. The preheating light was on constantly, and the engine was running rough, especially when cold. Have you checked for any stored error codes?

Yeah, there's definitely an error stored. What was the eventual culprit for you? And what did it set you back?

Glow plug failure was the cause for me, too. Best get it checked out at a workshop. Driving with dud glow plugs isn't good for your engine.

Cheers for the confirmation. Dropped it off at the garage today, and you were spot on – glow plugs! Quoted 440€ for the full repair. Ouch, but at least I know what the problem is now. Thanks!
