Peugeot 308 VANOS Fault Fuel Consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Peugeot 308 diesel is experiencing a check engine light and increased fuel consumption, with a diagnostic scan indicating a fault with the inlet VANOS mechanics. Possible causes include a faulty camshaft solenoid valve or a power supply issue. The problem may be related to variable timing, and taking the vehicle to a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair is suggested.

Thanks for the reply. Sluggish is a good way to describe it, yeah. No other codes are showing up, just the VANOS one. Did yours also have increased fuel consumption? Any idea what fixed it for you?

Yeah, the fuel consumption definitely took a hit. I was putting more fuel than usual. Honestly, I didn't mess with it myself. Took it straight to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quick. Sounds like a similar problem.

Appreciate the insight! Sounds like I'm on the right track, but I'll probably take it to a shop as well. Just got the repair bill: 250€. Thanks again!

I had something similar with my 308. Noticed the engine felt a bit sluggish too? I'm no mechanic, but it sounds like it could be variable timing related. Was it throwing any other codes, like maybe indicating an engine misfire?
