Peugeot 4007 ABS Traction Problems

Hi, I'm having some issues with my 2012 Peugeot 4007 diesel. The ABS lamp keeps lighting up, and I'm experiencing traction problems. Seems like the ABS system is failing intermittently. I've read online it could be related to a speed signal fault. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any ideas where to start looking?

I had a similar problem with my 4007. ABS light, traction control going crazy... it was a nightmare. Have you checked the input from the wheel speed sensors to the ECM? If the ECM isn't getting the correct data, or any data, from one of the sensors, that might set off the whole cascade of errors. Have you tried reading out the error codes? Odometer working?

Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked the wheel speed sensors directly, I was mostly looking at the transmission connections. Is it difficult to check the sensors? And yes, the odometer is working fine. Where exactly should I look for the error codes?

Yeah, sounds like the same issue I had. I spent ages fiddling with it and eventually took it to a workshop. Turned out to be a defective control unit, which they said was a common problem in our cars. That's what was causing the bad signal. They quoted me around 1000€ for the repair. Good luck!

Okay, thanks a lot for the information! I think I'll take it to a workshop as well and get it checked out properly. Sounds like it's beyond my capabilities. The mentioned repair cost gives me a first impression of what to expect. I really appreciate your help, it has pointed me in the right direction!
