Peugeot 4007 battery sensor issue

Having trouble with my 2011 Peugeot 4007 diesel. It's got 267491 km on the clock. Lately, the battery seems weak when starting, and the lights sometimes flicker, especially at idle. I've checked the battery voltage, and it seems okay when the engine is running, but drops quickly when it's off. Could this be a bad battery sensor?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my 4007. Weak starts and flickering lights, just like you described. Have you checked the connections to the battery sensor? Maybe it's just a loose wire.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the connections, and they seem tight. Is there anything specific about the battery sensor I should be looking for? Any way to test it, perhaps with a multimeter?

Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it too much. It could be a faulty sensor, but it also could be something else draining the battery. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, and they confirmed it was the sensor. Best to get it checked professionally, in my opinion.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I'll book it in with a local garage. Turns out you were spot on. The garage confirmed it was indeed the battery sensor, costing me 315€ to replace. At least it's sorted now!
