Peugeot 4007 fuel level sensor issue

I'm experiencing a strange issue with my 2010 Peugeot 4007 gasoline. The check engine light comes on intermittently, and sometimes the engine stalls at idle. I've pulled the error codes, and it points to a fault with the fuel level sensor. I've checked for any obvious loose connections around the fuel tank, but everything seems to be in order. Could a defective fuse be the culprit, and if so, where might I find it?

I had a similar problem with my 4007. The fuel level sensor error can be a real headache. Does the fuel gauge reading seem erratic or inaccurate when the check engine light is on?

Yes, the fuel gauge does fluctuate quite a bit, especially when the tank is less than half full. It sometimes drops to empty even though I know there's still fuel in the tank. Does this confirm your suspicion? Where did you go from there?

That confirms it. In my case, the sensor itself was faulty. Considering the symptoms, a trip to a workshop is advisable for a proper diagnosis and replacement.

Thank you for the advice! I took it to a local mechanic, and it turned out to be a faulty fuel level sensor, just as you suspected. The replacement cost me 52€. Everything seems to be working perfectly now.
