Peugeot 4007 Mixture Preparation Error

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2011 Peugeot 4007 (gasoline engine). It's got about 54k km on the clock. I'm experiencing a mixture preparation error with reduced engine power, check engine light, rough running, jerking when accelerating, and occasional stalling. I've checked the spark plugs, and they seem fine. I suspect a fuel injection issue, perhaps a defective injector. I've also considered the air-fuel ratio and the catalytic converter. Any ideas before I dive deeper?

I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra. Same symptoms, but the error code pointed towards a faulty fuel injector. Before you go too far, have you checked the throttle body for buildup or obstructions? That can mimic fuel delivery problems. Also, what error code are you getting exactly? That could help narrow down the possibilities.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically checked the throttle body, but I will add it to my list. The error code is P0172 - System Too Rich (Bank 1). Does this code confirm your suspicion about the injector or could it point to something else? Did you also have this specific code?

My error code was different, but the symptoms were nearly identical. Given that you're getting a 'System Too Rich' code, it could still be an injector issue (a leaking injector would cause a rich condition). However, it could also be a faulty oxygen sensor. Since you're experiencing those symptoms I would suggest taking it to a workshop, they can do a proper diagnostic.

You were right. I took it to a local garage and after diagnosis it turned out to be a defective injector. They replaced it and now it runs smoothly. Cost me 515€ for the repair including the injector and labour. Thanks for your help!
