Peugeot 4007 System Readiness Error
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Peugeot 4007 owner experienced a system readiness error after using an OBD2 scanner, which could lead to failing an emissions test. The issue was likely due to the ECU not completing the necessary drive cycle or being confused by the OBD2 read. Suggested solutions included completing a specific drive cycle or having a shop with proper diagnostics check the vehicle. Ultimately, disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes reset the system, resolving the error and allowing the vehicle to pass inspection.

Yeah, I cleared the codes, but the error pops back up pretty quickly. What exactly do you mean by 'drive cycle'? Is there a specific sequence of driving I need to do?

Right, clearing the code isn't always enough. By drive cycle, I mean the specific driving pattern the ECU needs to see to run all the diagnostic tests. It's different for every car, but usually involves a cold start, idling, some steady-state cruising at different speeds, and some deceleration. Honestly, finding the exact Peugeot 4007 drive cycle can be a pain. If it keeps failing, it might be worth getting it checked by a shop with proper diagnostics. They might have the Peugeot-specific tool to force the readiness.

Thanks, that's helpful. Turns out, just needed to wait. I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes and after this 'reset', it was fine. Seems like a full computer reset did the trick. No cost, and the error is gone. Passed vehicle inspection.

Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my old Saab after using a generic OBD reader. The readiness monitors weren't setting correctly. Usually it's related to the drive cycle not being completed, or the ECU getting confused after the OBD2 read. Have you tried clearing the codes and driving it for a while to see if the monitors reset?
