Peugeot 4007 transmission shifting issues

Alright, I've got a head-scratcher. My 2008 Peugeot 4007, gasoline engine, with 150k on the clock, is acting up. The automatic transmission is shifting all kinds of wrong, real jerky like. The transmission indicator light is also popping on. It's not shifting smoothly, and sometimes feels like it's stuck in emergency mode. I'm guessing it has to do with the hydraulic fluid?

Sounds familiar. I had similar transmission problems with my old Volvo V70. Symptoms were almost identical – slipping transmission, indicator light, the works. Could be a few things causing it, but did you check the voltage? Maybe undervoltage?

Undervoltage, you say? I haven't checked that specifically. How would undervoltage even cause problems with the transmission?

Yeah, undervoltage can mess with the electronic control of the transmission, causing it to act erratically. Experienced it myself after a dodgy battery install. I'd still recommend a visit to the workshop though, better safe than sorry with automatic transmissions.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I took it to my local shop, and you called it. It was an undervoltage issue that fried the transmission oil, causing the problems. New oil and a reset fixed it right up. Cost me 240€.
