Peugeot 4007 transmission shifting issues
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Peugeot 4007 is experiencing jerky and incorrect shifting in its automatic transmission, accompanied by an indicator light. The issue is suspected to be related to the hydraulic fluid. A suggestion was made to check for undervoltage, as it can disrupt the electronic control of the transmission. Upon inspection at a workshop, it was confirmed that undervoltage had damaged the transmission oil, and replacing the oil and resetting the system resolved the issue.

Undervoltage, you say? I haven't checked that specifically. How would undervoltage even cause problems with the transmission?

Yeah, undervoltage can mess with the electronic control of the transmission, causing it to act erratically. Experienced it myself after a dodgy battery install. I'd still recommend a visit to the workshop though, better safe than sorry with automatic transmissions.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I took it to my local shop, and you called it. It was an undervoltage issue that fried the transmission oil, causing the problems. New oil and a reset fixed it right up. Cost me 240€.

Sounds familiar. I had similar transmission problems with my old Volvo V70. Symptoms were almost identical – slipping transmission, indicator light, the works. Could be a few things causing it, but did you check the voltage? Maybe undervoltage?
