Peugeot 4008 check engine light and stalling

Hello, I own a 2017 Peugeot 4008, gasoline engine, with 89085 km. Lately, the check engine light comes on, and the engine sometimes stalls at idle. Could this be related to a fuel tank ventilation system leak?

That sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my 4008. Did you notice any changes in fuel efficiency, or perhaps a hissing sound near the fuel tank? It could be related to the EVAP system. Have you checked the pressure sensor?

Thanks for the reply! I haven't noticed any hissing sounds. What exactly should I look for regarding the pressure sensor and the EVAP system?

Well, in my case, the problem was eventually traced back to a defective activated charcoal filter in the EVAP system, leading to a fuel tank ventilation leak. It caused the check engine light and stalling issues you described. I suggest taking it to a workshop for a proper leak detection test. Do you want to end up with bigger problems down the road?

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and it turned out to be a defective activated charcoal filter just like you said. Repair cost 275€. Appreciate the help!
