Peugeot 4008 coolant loss
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Peugeot 4008 with a gasoline engine is experiencing coolant loss, causing the check engine light to activate. Despite no visible leaks, the issue persists. Suggestions include checking the cooling fan, looking for unusual smells or smoke, and considering internal problems like a head gasket issue. Ultimately, a workshop visit reveals a small leak in the radiator hose, which is repaired.

Thanks for the tips! The cooling fan seems to be working fine. I haven't noticed any strange smells or smoke, but I'll double-check. Where else should I be looking for a leak?

Hmm, if you can't find an obvious leak, and there's no smoke, it could be something internal, like a head gasket issue. But honestly, with that low mileage, I'd just take it to a trusted mechanic. They can pressure test the system and figure it out properly. Coolant leaks can cause big problems!

Oh no, that sounds frustrating! Coolant issues can be tricky. Is your cooling fan working properly? Maybe also check for any unusual smells coming from the engine bay, or any white smoke from the exhaust. It could be a small coolant leak somewhere.
