Peugeot 4008 Cruise Control Error
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Peugeot 4008 is experiencing a cruise control malfunction, with an error message displayed on the speedometer. The issue may be caused by a defective cable or plug connection, particularly around the steering wheel. Clock spring? Never heard of it. Where is that located, and how would I check it?

The clock spring sits right behind the steering wheel. You'd need to remove the steering wheel to get to it. Be careful, because you're dealing with the airbag system, so disconnecting the battery is a must before you start. If you're not comfortable working with airbags, it's best to get it checked out at a workshop. They can diagnose the issue properly and make sure everything's safe. A defective cable is possible, but should be checked by a professional. Cost me about 95€ the last time I had a similar issue.

Okay, thanks! I think I'll take it to a workshop to get it sorted. Better safe than sorry when it comes to airbags. I appreciate the insight about the potential cost, too.

Sounds like it. Cruise control systems are sensitive to voltage drops or bad connections. The error message points to a malfunction. Have you checked the wiring around the steering wheel? Sometimes the clock spring, which allows the steering wheel to rotate while maintaining electrical connection, can cause issues with the cruise control buttons and wiring.
