Peugeot 4008 headlight range control fault

I'm getting pretty frustrated. My 2016 Peugeot 4008 with a gasoline engine is throwing a headlight range control fault. The error is stored, the speedometer light is on, and now my low beams are all messed up, shining way too low or too high. Has anyone seen this before? I checked the electrical connectors but don't know what else to do.

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Peugeot 4008 owner is experiencing a headlight range control fault, causing the low beams to shine incorrectly. The issue is identified as a defective servomotor within the headlight unit. The suggested solution is to have the servomotor checked and potentially replaced at a workshop to resolve the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Peugeot 4008 too. Had a similar issue – kept getting errors and the lights were all over the place. Did you check the servomotor?

Servomotor? Where exactly is that located, and how would I even check it?

Yeah, the servomotor in the headlight unit itself. Honestly, it's fiddly. Mine ended up being a defective servomotor, like a dimmer switch stuck on the wrong setting. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop; messing with the adaptive headlights without the right tools can make it worse.

Thanks! I took it to the workshop and you were spot on – defective servomotor. Cost me 1040€ to sort out, but at least it's fixed. Appreciate the help!
