Peugeot 4008 Knock Sensor Issue

My 2014 Peugeot 4008 with a gasoline engine is giving me trouble. The check engine light is on, fuel consumption is terrible, and it idles roughly. It has 172657 km on the clock. I suspect the knock sensor. Could a bad cable or plug connection cause these issues?

That sounds familiar! I have a 4008 too, and I had similar problems. Engine light, rough idle... It could be the knock sensor. Did you check the sensor itself for any physical damage?

I gave the sensor a quick look but didn't see anything obvious. Was the knock sensor definitely the cause for your 4008? Could it be something else before I start taking things apart?

Yes, for me it was the knock sensor. I tried cleaning the contacts, but it didn't help. In the end, I took it to a workshop. It saved me a lot of trouble!

I had it sorted at a workshop. The knock sensor was indeed the problem, like we thought. The cable was damaged! A new sensor and cable cost 95€, but it's running perfectly now.
