Peugeot 4008 Start-Stop Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Peugeot 4008 diesel experienced issues with its start-stop system, where the engine would shut off unexpectedly, triggering a warning light. The problem was linked to a defective battery, likely due to the car sitting unused for a period, leading to a low charge. The solution involved taking the vehicle to a workshop, where the battery was confirmed to be the issue and subsequently replaced, resolving the start-stop malfunction.

Yes, the car was not used for a week. So you think it is related to a low battery? Was the automatic restart also not working in your case?

Definitely sounds like the battery. I tried a few things but eventually had to take it to a workshop. They confirmed it was a heavily discharged battery. Best get it checked.

Thank you for the suggestion. I followed your advice and took it to a workshop. They confirmed the battery was defective, and the repair cost 290€. The start-stop is now working again!

Hey! I had something similar happen with my 4008. Did it start after the car sat unused for a bit? The Eco mode can be really sensitive to battery charge. My engine stalled a couple of times too!
