Peugeot 4008 Turbo Issues

I'm having some issues with my 2013 Peugeot 4008 diesel. It has 190965 km. The check engine light keeps coming on, and I've noticed a significant drop in engine power and generally poor engine response. I'm also hearing a whistling noise, especially when accelerating, almost like a loud hissing. Sometimes the engine even stalls when idling, and my fuel consumption has noticeably increased. I suspect it might be related to the turbo, and I'm wondering if the boost pressure actuator could be the culprit? Has anyone experienced similar issues?

I had a similar issue with my 4008. Check engine light, power loss, the whole shebang. It could very well be the turbo actuator. Has the car been throwing any specific fault codes?

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the fault codes myself, but is there any way to confirm the actuator issue without diagnostic tools?

Without the codes, it's tough to say for sure. While I don't want to definitively diagnose over the internet, all those symptoms do point towards potential turbo issues. Before doing anything yourself, I really recommend taking it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local mechanic, and they confirmed it was the electrical bypass valve defective. Repair cost me 250€. Now everything is working perfectly.
