Peugeot 406 AC undervoltage issue
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a problem with the air conditioning system in a 2002 Peugeot 406, which doesn't switch on or cool. The initial suspicion is that undervoltage might be the cause, despite the pressure switch and AC relay appearing fine. Suggestions include checking the relay with a multimeter and considering professional help. Ultimately, the issue is resolved by fixing wiring problems, confirming that undervoltage was indeed the culprit.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the relay visually, but not with a multimeter. Good point! Regarding the fuse, yes, that was the first thing I checked, and it seems fine. Is there a specific way to test the relay switch besides just looking at it?

Yeah, a multimeter is the way to go. But honestly, if you've checked the obvious stuff like the fuse and the relay seems okay, and you're getting undervoltage errors, it might be worth getting it checked by a professional. Could save you a lot of headache. I bet they can figure this out quickly!

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right; it was indeed due to undervoltage. They fixed some wiring issues, and the A/C is working perfectly now. The repair cost me 240€ Appreciate the help!

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old Citroen years ago. Undervoltage is definitely a possibility. Have you checked the relay switch? Sometimes they can be faulty even if they appear okay visually. Did you check the fuse?
