Peugeot 406 Check Engine Light Air Valve Issue

Hi, I have a 2000 Peugeot 406 with a gasoline engine. The check engine light comes on, and I think it might be related to the air supply. I've been reading about possible issues with the air valve. Could it be a defective hose connection from the pump to the valve?

Hey, I've got a 406 too, and I had a similar issue. Check engine light was on, and the car was sometimes stalling. You mentioned the air valve... Is the manifold pressure also fluctuating?

Yeah, sometimes I noticed the engine is stalling! How did you solve it, and was it really the air valve that caused it?

Sounds like the same thing. I wouldn't know how to fix it myself, honestly. Take it to a workshop. They'll check the hoses and valve for leaks. Should be a quick fix.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right! It was the hose connection from the pump to the air valve. Cost me 175€, but at least the check engine light is off now.
