Peugeot 406 cold start issue

Hi, I'm having a really annoying problem with my 2003 Peugeot 406 (gasoline engine). It's got 82044 km on the clock. Lately, it's been starting really poorly, especially when it's cold. The engine runs super rough during the cold start phase. I'm suspecting it might be the cold start injector at fault – any ideas? I checked the fuel rail, everything seems normal.

Hey, that sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, though it was the main fuel injector giving me grief. Rough idle on cold starts. Have you tried checking the spray pattern of the injector?

Spray pattern, huh? I hadn't thought of that. How did you go about checking it on your Astra? Was it easy to get to the injectors?

Nah, it wasn't easy, to be honest, and you need to be careful with the fuel system. Considering you suspect the injector valve itself, I'd say head to a workshop. Could save you a lot of hassle and potential fuel leaks.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to a workshop, and the cold start injector was indeed defective. Replaced it, and it cost me 515€, but now it runs like a dream again!
