Peugeot 406 diesel reset quantity drift

My 2001 Peugeot 406 diesel with 207578 km runs roughly. The check engine light is on, with an error about "reset quantity drift compensation". I suspect a defective injector. Has anyone seen this?

Ah, the dreaded fuel injection gremlins! I recall battling a similar problem on my old Saab 9-3. Rough running, check engine light – the whole shebang. Is the error specifically pointing to a compensation adjustment issue, or is it more generic? What onboard diagnostics have you run beyond reading the error code?

The error explicitly refers to the reset quantity drift compensation. I have monitored fuel pressure and injector timing, but the data appears within acceptable ranges, albeit with slight deviations. Could you elaborate on the specifics of your Saab experience?

My Saab had a similar compensation issue which was caused by a faulty injector. I replaced all of them, even though only one was faulty, and then needed the fuel injection system reset. If you are seeing similar symptoms, it is very likely an injector issue. I ended up bringing it to a workshop, as I didn't have the tools or knowledge to do it myself and prevent further damage. Probably the best course of action in my experience.

I appreciate your input regarding the injector issue. Based on your experience and the diagnostic information, I will proceed with a workshop visit to address the reset quantity drift compensation problem. The estimated repair cost is approximately 515€, so let's hope for the best!
