Peugeot 406 electric seat failure
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Peugeot 406's passenger electric seat stopped working, with an error stored in the memory and no seat adjustment functionality. Initial checks showed the fuses were fine, leading to suggestions that the issue might be due to a faulty seat switch, damaged wiring, or a failed seat motor. However, it was advised to first check the battery's voltage and load, as a weak or defective battery could cause such electrical issues. Ultimately, professional assistance was recommended to resolve the problem.

The battery? I didn't consider that, mainly because the car starts fine. But could a weak battery really cause just the seat to fail?

Yes, that's what I found on my Astra. A heavily discharged or defective battery can cause weird electrical issues. Before tearing into the seat itself, check the battery's voltage, and if possible, get it load-tested. If the battery is okay, you will need professional help to identify the error. I would recommend going to the workshop.

Okay, thanks for the tip! I'll get the battery checked out first thing tomorrow. It ended up costing 290€ in the shop, but at least the seat works again!

Hmm, sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, although that was a completely different setup. The error memory and lack of movement suggest it's getting no power. It could be a faulty seat switch, damaged wiring, or even a failed seat motor, but did you check the battery?
